Hi, I'm Lori, an experienced classroom teacher with 18 years experience teaching English, reading, and writing to hundreds of students. With a Master's Degree in Education, I hold a teaching license for Language Arts and Reading, and an additional Reading endorsement. My personalized lessons and activities cater to each student's unique needs and goals, ensuring an engaging tutoring experience where students leave each session with strategies to practice on their own.

 

I have successfully taught students at all ability levels, including adults, students identified as gifted, students receiving specialized services, and individuals on the autism spectrum. I am always positive, always smiling, and truly love tutoring and seeing my students thrive.

 

My teaching style incorporates meaningful and relevant materials that let students develop an appreciation for reading and writing. I use materials based on individual student interests and build in essential questioning strategies and scaffolded lessons. I meet students where they are and help them be successful and proficient readers and writers.
